The US Army is using yoga and relaxation exercises in awareness courses for soldiers returning from active duty.  Approximately 20% of soldiers returning from Afghanistan or Iraq suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.  Researchers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. plan to conduct a controlled trial of the effectiveness of yoga-based treatments in the future.
