The purpose of a Yoga retreat is to
take time away from our regular responsibilities and commitments to
explore our self development in a tranquil setting. Being close to
nature creates an opportunity to focus on the major areas of our
lives where we would like to see improvement. Those areas may
involve our partners, children, parents, friends, profession, health
and lifestyle. Students will learn how yoga can improve our capacity
to manage emotions, cope better with stress, and achieve our goals,
thus creating a foundation for positive change. |

Axel has been
leading yoga retreats for 34 years. He offers a two-day retreat
beginning Saturday morning at 8:15 and ending on Sunday afternoon at
4:00 For those who would like to participate but don't have the entire
weekend free, they may join us either for all day Saturday from 8:15
a.m. to 9:30 p.m. or all day Sunday from 8:15 a.m. to 4: p.m.
Retreats are held at Eaton Hall, a
33,000 sq. ft.Norman chateau built on a grand scale for Lady
Flora McCrea Eaton in the 1930's. Eaton Hall has served as a private
rural residence for the Eaton family. Its location is in a beautiful
country setting only 40 minutes from Toronto on Dufferin Street south
of Snow Ball Corner. The elegance of Eaton Hall is set on a hilltop,
overlooking a private lake and 700 acres of rolling woodlands. Rounded
turrets, wrought iron balconies and immaculate gardens provide
exceptional backgrounds for your photographs. Yoga classes will take
place in the west dinning room which is a bright 800 square foot room
overlooking the lake. Delicious vegetarian meals are prepared by the
executive chefs at Eaton Hall.
The Saturday morning program starts with a beginner Hatha Yoga class
(level 1) followed by an intermediate Yoga class (level 2). Axel will
determine at which level students will participate. In the afternoon
there will be a lecture with a question and answer period with Axel.
The evening class will include a guided meditation and an opportunity
to ask questions about how to improve your meditation practice.
During the lecture and discussion period
Saturday afternoon Axel will be covering important Yogic principles
and practices. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and
acquire additional information on the Yoga postures, stress
management, health, diet, relationships, self development and how to
set up a home practice. The study of relevant Yoga texts will also be
included.
